'''Rubber duck''' is a slang term given to the flexible rubber antennas supplied with hand held [[transceiver]]s.

The term is somewhat derogatory since those types of antennas are generally inexpensive and at times inefficient. They are intended to get a new radio on the air as quickly as possible, but are easily replaced by higher quality antennas.
