My last question is this: how does this compare to [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Amateur_radio wikipedia's ham radio project]? Why a (separate) forum?
Why is there a separate forum for this wiki? Seems to me mediawiki has all we need with discussion pages (as we could prove here :). If we want to have general discussions, we could have a Forum page that would indicate the idea of the forum and a Talk:Forum page that would be the chat itself...
It seems to me the SMF forum just adds extra burden to the administration of this site. For example, there's spam now in the forum too, and very little content.. Why not focus our energies here? -- TheAnarcat 17:24, 2 October 2010 (CDT)
Let's cleanup the frontpage
The frontpage isn't really pretty right now. While there's a lot of good information in this wiki, the frontpage doesn't allow for easily finding it. We should focus on guiding incoming users based on what they are looking for or who they are. A "newbies" section would be really good. I think we could be inspired by the frontpage of the amateurradiowiki.us site: even though that site has less pages and visits, it's better organised in some places... Oh and it copies a lot of content straight from wikipedia... --TheAnarcat 19:05, 2 October 2010 (CDT)
