Portable antennas are designed to be easily transported from one location to another, and can be set up and taken down quickly. Portable antennas are frequently used when camping or backpacking. See Adventure Radio Society (ARS) and Trail-Friendly Radio for more information.

Portable antennas should not be confused with mobile antennas, which are designed to be used while in motion.
