IRLP and EchoLink are not modes
IRLP and EchoLink are internet based signal propagation techniques rather than transmission modes. Radio is an atmospheric electromagnetic propagation. Telephone is electrical conduction propagation through a switching network. An internet is a packet switching network. The Internet is the largest internet.
