My understanding is that the VX-7R only supports 6 meters, 2 meters, and 440 MHz. See the link below. If you have a source that indicates that this rig can do 220, please let me know.

The universal radio page is wrong. I own a VX-7R and have talked on 220 with it!!! The U.S. version includes a 220 band. It's confusing because even yaesu advertises it as a tri-band but the US version is actually a quad. Go download the manual from yaesu.com and page 1 even says "the vx-7r provides 222MHz support (but only .3 watts, but I've hit a repeater over 60 miles from my house using a 2m antenna!)
