I work at an Anglican school in Brisbane where I teach Mathematics. My interest in amateur radio, and the availability of the Foundation licence in Australia has led me to start radio courses at my school. This year (2008) I will have a parent joining the first course for the year. One of my students from last year will be going on to the standard licence this year.

My interests in Ham radio are varied, but I am especially enjoying the digital modes at the moment.

My shack consists of HF and dual band VHF transceivers, a 35A power supply and an LDG auto tuner. On HF I mainly use a G5RV, while on VHF I use a dual band j-pole and a dual 5/8 center fed vertical. I also have a 7 element 2m beam with a rotator, and a 6m 5/8 vertical.

My work on this site originated from my desire to have a central place where my students can get relevant, accurate and useful information. They are children of the web but there is so much rubbish out there that it is very difficult for them to be discerning.
